How to Search for Availability:

  • Use ITA Software Matrix Airfare Search and use the following search criteria:
    • Departing from: SFO
    • Outbound Advanced Routing Code:
      • Textbox 1: ua
      • Textbox 2:
        • This is instructing ITA to search for the Basic Economy fare. Use those dates on United and you will be presented with an option to upgrade to a regular economy fare.
    • Destination:  SEA
      • For Portland availability, replace SEA with PDX
        • These work both ways, so SEA or PDX can be the departure city and SFO can be the Destination.
    • Return Advanced Routing Code: 
      • Textbox 1: ua
      • Textbox 2:

    • Select “See calendar of lowest fares”
